Official Sharp Shooter Air Show Photo Contest Rules

Section 1- Qualification
To qualify, all entries must be photographs taken at one of the following five 2011 air shows, referenced herein collectively as the "qualifying air shows":
Canadian International Air Show
Great Lakes International Air Show
Hamilton Air Show
Waterloo Air Show
Windsor Air Show

The contest is open to all residents of Canada and the United States age 13 years and older, except directors and employees of Air Combat Zone, the qualifying air shows and any of the sponsoring companies or affiliated companies. This includes their immediate families, cohabitants, agents or contractors. The contest is void where prohibited or restricted by law. Air Combat Zone reserves the right to cancel the contest or modify these rules at its discretion. Decisions of Air Combat Zone will be final. No purchase is necessary. Any and all disputes will be resolved in the appropriate courts in the Province of Ontario and subject to the laws of the Province. Should there be a conflict between the laws of Ontario and any other laws, the conflict will be resolved in favour of the laws of the Province of Ontario. The Sharp Shooter Air Show Photo Contest is subject to all Federal, Provincial and Municipal laws. Winning entrants are required to answer a mathematical skill-testing question.

Section 2- Image Specifications and Editing
Entries are to be digital photographs and submitted electronically as jpeg files to the contest website. Digital files are to be at least 4 mega pixel resolution, and no larger than 10MB (10,000 KB). Photo editing such as cropping, tonal correction, color correction, etc. is acceptable however; combining multiple photos and use of HDR techniques is not. Photos with borders, frames, text or other graphic treatments, including watermarks are not permitted.

Section 3- Content Categorisation
Photos will be judged in 2 categories: "Performing Aircraft" and "Static Aircraft". Photos are classified as being submitted for the Performing Aircraft category if the subject is moving or has engines running. Air Combat Zone holds the right to disqualify entries with inappropriate content.

Section 4- Submission Criteria
Photographs entered must not have been previously published. Individuals can only submit up to 5 and can only win once per category, but may win in multiple categories. If an entrant has submitted 5 photos in one category, any additional entries they make will be removed from the contest site and will not qualify for voting. Entrants must own all rights to the photographs submitted. As such, entrants hold Air Combat Zone and the contest sponsors harmless from any breach of copyright. Photographs that violate or infringe upon another person's copyright are not eligible.

Section 5- Acceptable Use
Winners' names and photographs will be published online on various websites including www.aircombatzone.com, www.facebook.com and other sites at Air Combat Zone's discretion including but not limited to the websites of the qualifying air shows. Air Combat Zone reserves the non-exclusive right to publish any entry and/or use any entry in promotional and advertising materials. Photos published will be credited to the photographer where possible.

Section 6- Winners Selection Process
Public voting for finalists will take place online from September 19th to the 25th inclusive. The top 20 finalists in each category qualify for judging by the judging panel. As individuals can only win once per category, when a photo has been selected as a winner in its category, any additional photos that qualified as a finalist that were submitted by a winning photographer are removed from the judging process. Decision of the judges is final.

Section 7- Responsibility
Air Combat Zone is not responsible for any failure of the website during this contest. Nor is it responsible for any problems or technical malfunctions of computer online systems, servers, access providers, computer equipment, software or any email, online or internet entry lost due to technical problems or traffic congestion on the internet or at any website or any combination thereof, including any injury or damage to an entrant's or any other person's computer or property related to or resulting from playing or downloading any material in the promotion.

Section 8- Copyright Notice
With regard to any photograph submitted to this contest, the entrant, or the owner of copyright in the photograph, retains copyright. By uploading or submitting any photograph to this contest, the entrant grants (or warrant that the owner of such materials expressly grants) Air Combat Zone a royalty-free, world-wide, perpetual, non-exclusive license to display, distribute, reproduce, and create derivative works of the entries, in whole or in part, in any media now existing or subsequently developed, for any purpose, including, but not limited to advertising and promotional materials, its website, exhibition, and commercial products, including but not limited to Air Combat Zone publications. Air Combat Zone will not be required to pay any additional consideration or seek any additional approval in connection with such uses.
