AN EXPERIENCE LIKE NO OTHER

Intel Summary
From signing in at flight ops, right through to your return to base, missions at Air Combat Zone are a completely unique entertainment experience from start to finish. Relax in the ready room until your mission launch time, complete your flight and combat skills training, attend the pre-mission briefing and then you're off to take to the sky on a mission in CF-18 Hornet combat flight simulators. Your mission will be the most fun and realistic fighter pilot experience available without joining the Air Force.

Viewing the short video at the right of an air combat mission at Air Combat Zone launched from a carrier makes for a great way to see what Air Combat Zone is all about. While this mission was flown against artificial foes, don't forget that our sims are networked for live action combat between up to 4 people!

The 4 Phases Of The Air Combat Zone Fighter Pilot Experience

Phase 1: Prepare For Your High Octane Experience

Pre-flight planning is critical for flawless execution of your Air Combat Zone Experience. For this reason we have the OMBS (Online Mission Booking System). The OMBS allows you to check availability and make mission bookings for up to 4 pilots directly online. We offer three mission durations ranging from 1 to 2 hours starting from only $49.95. Once your booking is made the countdown to mission launch begins!
Click here for more information on booking missions and pricing.

Phase 2: Mission Day. Checking In With Flight Ops

Your mission starts the minute you arrive at Air Combat Zone and check in with your mission commander (MC) at the Flight Operations Desk (Flight Ops). When you arrive at Air Combat Zone for your mission, you will be required to sign a release waver. To see a sample please click
here. From Flight Op's, you'll be directed to the "Ready Room" where you can check out some cool fighter jet videos, browse our library or get the competitive juices flowing with a Foosball game to get you "In The Zone".

Phase 3: Mission Launch. Time To Launch Your Experience Into The Skies

Now you'll get all the intelligence you need to make your mission a success. Your MC will take you through the paces on a 15 minute PC simulator combat skills development session to show you the critical skills and systems you'll use during your flight in the Hornet simulator. Key topics covered include:

• Flight skills
• Systems operation details
• Mission procedures
• Air combat skills instruction

Next it's off to the briefing room for a 15 minute briefing where your MC will review all the skills and systems you've learned on the PC sim's and ensure you're fully qualified for your Hornet mission.

Each time you fly with us you can expand your skills with the goal of flying complete strike fighter missions. The 30 minute training session described above is included with all our missions to ensure you have all the intel you need before climbing in your Hornet cockpit.

Phase 4: Time To Turn And Burn!

After your briefing, you'll climb aboard your CF-18 Hornet air combat flight simulator. Your Air Combat Zone experience makes YOU the pilot of one of the fastest, most powerful jet fighters to fly in the military today. You'll be in communications throughout your mission with your MC in the control tower and the other pilots on your mission, so you're never stranded in the skies. We'll give you all the support you need to make your mission experience a bull's-eye success.

We offer three different in-cockpit mission durations- 30, 60 and 90 minutes. The mission duration when combined with the 30 minute training session outlined above results in total mission durations of a 1 hour standard mission for $49.95*, a 1 1/2 hour double mission for $79.95* and a 2 hour triple mission for $109.95*. We do not recommend flying a triple duration for a first mission as you will only have learned 1 set of skills. Also please be aware that the standard mission will go by very fast on a first mission as you practice your new skills in the simulator. For these reasons we do recommend flying a double duration mission the first time you fly with us to ensure you have time to learn your skills and have enough time for a great round of live action dogfighting.

Extensive Mission Profiles. Built Your Skills For Complete Strike Fighter Missions.

The Air Combat Zone mission you choose has been designed to ensure you have a jet fighter entertainment experience that provides un-paralleled excitement and realism. Below are some of the mission types you can choose from to get that G-force rush:
Top Gun Fun! Air To Air Combat
That means dogfighting! You'll need to start with the basics of how to fly a high performance jet. Add to that some radar operation, weapons and counter measure skills and in no time you'll be engaged in live head-to-head air combat with up to 3 other pilots! This mission is recommended for your first experience at Air Combat Zone.

Bombs Away! Air To Ground Attack
You may think it's not as glamorous as dogfighting, but once you've penetrated enemy airspace, evaded their anti-aircraft defences, found your target, wiped it off the face of the map, and fought your way out again to a safe landing at home, you may have a new opinion.

Fighter Pilot Essentials
Take-offs, navigation, landings, threats and combat tactics are essential tools a fighter pilot needs to survive. You'll need to learn them too in order to round out your fighter jock skills so you can kick butt flying complete strike fighter combat missions.

Aircraft Carrier Ops
Managing to get roughly 40,000 lbs. of aircraft, jet fuel, and explosives off a floating airstrip without getting your toes wet is challenge enough. Turn around and put it all back onto the deck is something else all together. It's always a thrill and despite experience, you can always get better at it. Below is a video of having some fun blasting around the carrier group in an F-18 at Air Combat Zone!

Intense Strike Fighter Missions

Air to Air… check. Air to Ground… check. Pilot Essentials… check. Once you've completed all three essential training missions you are cleared for a complete strike fighter mission! Taxi to the runway, take off, and navigate to your target. Watch out for enemy fighters and ground defences as you execute your mission objective. Now it's time to fight your way out of hostile territory and back to your land or sea based home for landing and complete mission success!

Intel Brief On Our CF-18 Combat Flight Simulators

Capt. D. "Super Dave" Pletz, 2004 CF-18 Hornet demo team pilot and many other "been there, done that" front line fighter pilots have all describe our simulators the same way,"AWESOME". P. "Pitch" Molner, ex-CF-18 pilot, air show performer and current Alpha jet driver said "I've flown the new CF-18 sim - yours is very good in comparison". Fact is, our 4 CF-18 Hornet fighter jet combat flight simulators are the closest thing to actually flying a Hornet available to the public. Our ability to fly live action head-to-head dogfights against each other is functionality only available to military Hornet pilots in the last few years.

The following list outlines just some of our simulator's major features:
HOTAS Equipped Joystick And Throttle
Replica combat jet joystick and throttle with functional HOTAS (Hands On Throttle & Stick) Controls give finger tip control of the plane and its major systems.

Working HUD
Providing key flight and combat data without having to look down inside the cockpit, the Hornet's HUD (Heads Up Display) keeps the pilot's head out of the cockpit and finding targets.

Live Cockpit Instrumentation
3 MFD's (Multi Function Displays), including working menu selection buttons, as well as engine and auxiliary flight instruments provide all the weapons, radar , flight and navigation information you'll need to complete your mission.

Giant View Of The World Around You
The 8' x 6' WOTC (World Outside The Cockpit) screen gives an IMAX-like sensation of motion.

Functional Buttons And Switches
You're in control of weapon selection, radar mode and sub-mode selection for both air-to-air and air-to-ground combat, countermeasures, landing gear, flaps, tail hook, auto pilot mode selection and engagement, navigation controls, and much, much, much more. Over 70 functional buttons and switches in all.

Don't worry though. While a cockpit full of functional controls appears overwhelming, you won't need them all on your first mission. We'll show you how to use the joystick and throttle to fly the plane and 5 buttons and switches and then you'll be off on your first air combat mission in the Hornet. Experienced pilots and flight sim enthusiasts can go far beyond the basics by just asking for more. This makes our missions suitable for people with all levels of ability. At the end of the day it's important to note that no one is expected to go out and defend the nation at the end of a mission in one of our simulators! It's all about the fun and thrills of a fighter pilot experience like nothing you've ever seen before. An experience that has impressed people from actual pilots of fighters like the F-14 Tomcat, F-15 Eagle, F-16 Viper and the CF-18 Hornet all the way to those who've never seen a jet. So don't wait, click here for more information on booking missions or use the "Book A Mission" control now to book your mission today to experience Air Combat Zone's CF-18 Hornet fighter jet combat flight simulators.
